    Big Garden Birdwatch UPDATE - BBC Winterwatch is back

    Lat night the BBC Winterwatch Team had a go at counting birds too. It turns out you get to see more birds if you are outside in the garden, rather than in the kitchen, eating cake. Here is the segment about counting garden birds. Winterwatch, and Springwatch, and Autumnwatch, is a favourite programme here at Ty Newydd Farm.     The Big Garden Birdwatch 2019

    Men leave their huts, because They're obviously definitely nuts! Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun..... It's that time of year! Three days during which all British bird lovers can get out into their gardens to spend an hour counting the birds! This annual, wonderful, event makes me think of that now quite seriously politically incorrect wonderful Mad Dogs and Englishmen song by Noel Coward.     This novice gardener's DREAM Garden

    5 years ago my husband and I were lucky enough to be able to buy a slice of Welsh paradise. 5 acres of garden, to be precise. In case you are wondering how big 5 acres may be, this might help: 1 Acre = the amount of land you can plow in a day with a pair of oxen. or 1 Acre = one furlong by one chain (and who knows what that means) or 1 Acre = 43,560 square feet = 4046.8564 square metres Of course in Wales I doubt you'd get an acre ploughed in a week, much less a day, not unl
